Residential Carpenter Job Description

We are looking to grow our team to keep up with building and home renovation demand and seeking a hard-working and reliable construction worker to join our team. If you do not have experience, we are happy to train and develop the right individuals who are willing to work responsibly with a good attitude. ALG Construction has over 20 years of experience in the trades and provides a fast-paced environment with on-the-job continuous learning. As part of our team, you will participate in a variety of construction projects and be working alongside with our experienced tradesmen to build or renovate residential structures. To be successful in this position, you will work well as part of a team, enjoy working outdoors in all types of weather, and be able to perform strenuous physical tasks. Most of the work is in the Western WI area on new home construction and home remodels. We have steady work for the future. Competitive hourly wage ($15-$40/hour - pay depends on experience & position). Compensation will be based on experience. Regular advancement opportunity/growth within company.

 

Carpenter Responsibilities:

·       Site clean up

·       Framing

·       Setting of trusses

·       Window, door, cabinet, and flooring installation

·       Installation of interior trim, base, casing, crown molding, etc.

·       Operate hand and power tools

·       Work two to three stories up and on trusses (when applicable)

·       Ability to adequately complete daily tasks on own after receiving needed training

 

Construction Worker Job Requirements:

·       Reliable transportation daily to job site

·       Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position

·       Must have tools for the trade including tool belt, framing hammer, tape measure, and speed square

·       Must have proper PPE including work pants, hard hat, steel toe boots, safety glasses, high visibility vest and work gloves

·       Ability to read and use and understand tape measures, levels, squares, etc.

·       Must have work comp and liability insurance if looking to be a 1099 subcontractor

·       Willingness to undertake training if necessary.

·       Excellent communication and teamwork skills

·       Good problem solving and leadership skills

·       Ability to work independently when required with little supervision

·       Must be able to lift/carry 50-70 lbs as needed

 

Schedule:

Monday - Friday

Hours vary by time of year (7:30 AM – 4:00)

 

Job Types:

Full-time, Part-time

 

Pay:

 $15.00 - $40.00 per hour

 

Location:

Multiple in Western WI and Eastern Twin Cities
